Activities Gingerbread House Activity
Volunteers came to Bellevue on December 13th and built gingerbread
houses with the children on our inpatient pediatric psychiatry unit.
This year the children seemed to have a mission of putting as much candy
on their houses as they possibly could. Most of them succeeded too. It
was a fun evening for children and volunteers alike. At the end of
the evening the houses were put together to create a scrumptious
gingerbread village for all to see.

Halloween Pumpkin Decorating

Bellevue Hospital Center, 462 First Ave., 21st Floor West Volunteers
came to Bellevue Hospital to help our pediatric patients celebrate
Halloween. Children, staff, and volunteers decorated pumpkins together
and then celebratedthe holiday with the kids favorite snack, ice-cream
sundaes! The children on our 21st floor inpatient pediatric psychiatry
unit do not get to have the same holiday experience that most of us knew
during childhood. Activities like this are a great way of helping them
enjoy the holiday and forgetting the reality of living in a hospital,
even if for a short time. For more information on the pumpkin
decorating evening and future activities please contact Stephen.Gnojewski@bellevue.nychhc.org, or
