Tito's Story

Hi, my name is Tito. And I have HIV. I hate having HIV. I don't want to know anything about HIV. I don't want to be the expert. I don't want to take any medications anymore. I hope they find a cure for HIV for all the kids in the world. It is really really really horrible. Sometimes you don't feel like a regular person. You feel like a squished bug. They feel mushy. You have to take a lot of pills in the beginning. About 11 pills every day. Then, the more you take it, the less pills you get. Yuck. Whenever you go to the doctors, you always have to get a needle for a blood drawing that takes five minutes. I never talk to anybody about being HIV. That is just horrible. The whole thing is just horrible. Sometimes when I'm feeling horrible I jump on my bed, and do flips.

People contribute time and energy in a variety of important ways - with friends and co-workers, through work or on their own time. Kids' lives are better because they do so.
