Throughout its history, Bellevue Hospital has been a primary care giver for the city's children. Providing support to hospitalized children and their families remains an essential part of our mission.

No one wants to be hospitalized - away from family, anxious about discomfort, worried about the unknown. For a child, the loneliness and confusion of a hospital stay may feel overwhelming.

Children of Bellevue was founded more than a half-century ago to provide resources to children served by Bellevue Hospital. Children of Bellevue has a tradition of public health advocacy, education and research. Our core programs ease pain, loneliness and other difficult aspects of children's hospital experiences; help abused or neglected youngsters to cope, recover and heal; advance language development among children at risk of delay; and nurture children and adolescents hospitalized for psychiatric reasons.
