Holiday Visitors Enliven Bellevue's Youngster

Children of Bellevue is indebted to the many volunteers who bring so much joy to pediatric patients at the holidays. Volunteers organized book and clothing drives, visits with Santa and donated new toys to our programs. One such volunteer group, Lynn's Dance Connection, brought holiday cheer to the Pediatric Psychiatry Inpatients on December 16th. They danced to various holiday selections and even taught the children a step or two. What a wonderful sight to see a chorus line of volunteers and patients! Following the program, our junior committee members were on hand to serve welcomed goodies to the children.

Children use art to express their hopes and aspirations as well as their conflicts and fears. Art helps children communicate and gain a sense of control over often-difficult circumstances.
