Dollhouse Raised Funds for Loeb Child Protection Center

A lovely Home for the Holidays dollhouse was raffled in December to benefit the Frances L. Loeb Child Protection and Development Center. Dr. Lori Legano won the dollhouse and immediately donated it back to Children of Bellevue. It will be a highlight of the silent auction that is part of our annual Toast to the Children to be held Tuesday, April 29,2003, at the Essex House.

The handcrafted seven-room house is 22” x 17” x 30” and includes 13 pieces of furniture, a floor rug, and bedding. The clapboard siding is pink with a gray-shingled roof and red and pink blooms adorning its shutters and window boxes.

The raffle raised nearly $2,000 for the Loeb Center’s programs.

Children use art to express their hopes and aspirations as well as their conflicts and fears. Art helps children communicate and gain a sense of control over often-difficult circumstances.
